Solo Travel!

Travel has been an integral part of my life for over 20 years, and I can't imagine pursuing anything else.  This year, I proudly celebrate my 17th year with House of Travel Papamoa, where I truly love being a 'hottie.' Our store boasts a fantastic team culture that makes coming to work a joyful experience every day.

I find immense satisfaction in crafting bespoke itineraries that transform my clients' dreams into reality.  While the USA remains my favourite destination, my travels have also taken me through the stunning landscapes of New Zealand, the enchanting South Pacific, vibrant Australia, diverse Europe, and picturesque Canada and Alaska. This year (2024), I had the incredible opportunity to experience the magic of South Africa, where witnessing wildlife in their natural habitat is nothing short of breath-taking. Being on safari brings you so close to majestic animals, just meters away, creating unforgettable memories.

My first big trip was off to Camp America many years ago. As soon as I stepped foot on the first big international plane, the travel bug bit me and I never wanted to stop! Eventually I had to get a "real job" and what better job than as a travel agent. 

Since then I've enjoyed sending many more people on their first big exciting trip overseas, on family holidays, honeymoons, reunions, road trips, girls trips and any other reason you can think of for travel!

Born in France, I moved to New Zealand in 2019.

Passionate in travel, I explored Europe from a young age, then decided to go a bit further with my backpack, first in Vietnam for a month, then in New Zealand for a year (that is when I fell in love with Aotearoa).

I started to work in the travel industry by organising safari trips in Tanzania, where I went several times as a tour leader.

Discovering new places, countries, cultures is an amazing way to create memories, that is why I love helping clients to organise their holiday.

There is nothing more satisfying to me than a client popping in store after their journey to tell me all about the adventures they've had.

I’m Pete, the globetrotting geek. A passionate traveller who thrives on learning and discovery - Travel provides an endless array of opportunities for this; it’s a way to experience new, ever changing and always exciting places, meet curious people and engross yourself in a different culture or witness wildlife that is truly wild.

Be it museums, historical landmarks, wildlife excursions or gaming havens – I revel in these aspects of adventure and love to share it with others.
