Hong Kong – Suggested Itinerary

Suggested Hong Kong Adventure

Hong Kong is literally a living fusion of traditional Eastern and Western cultures. While she is a cosmopolitan city, under her contemporary exterior is a traditional Chinese lady at heart. It can feel fast paced with its dazzling array of high rise buildings, neon lights and billboards, but then catch a glimpse of Victoria Harbour and locals doing Tai Chi and you’re somehow compelled to slow down. Split into two by the harbour, Hong Kong has two main regions – Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. Each has plenty to explore; the many shopping options, restaurants and bars are too many to list! From history, culture, spectacular views, exotic flavours and of course, Disneyland, you’ll definitely need a few days to explore this exciting city.

Your itinerary

Get a view of this bustling city from above! Take the tram up to highest point on Hong Kong Island, The Peak, making sure to get to the Sky Terrace. Take a stroll through one of the many green spaces at the top and get views from every angle. Head to a Michelin Guide recommendation as your lunch stop, before stocking up on gadgets & tech at the Wan Chai Computer Mall. More local food for dinner and a visit to the Ladies Market to finish the day.

This morning head to Sai Kung Promenade and see fishermen selling their wares. Take a traditional Sampan (boat) and explore the coastline, before a delicious seafood lunch. Explore the village, artisan shops and try lots of quintessential foods - such as the famous Pineapple Bun.  Yum!

Make your way to your appointment (best to pre-book!) with your tailor and the work on your new clothes begins! Lunch is a quick stop at a bakery, famous for their Sourdough Egg Tart. An afternoon cruise of the harbour, a ride on the Ding Ding (local tram) and a stop at Cat Street - famous for antiques and retro goods takes you through to dinner, a renowned favourite of Peking Duck.

Make your way to Ngong Ping Village, including a ride on the cable car, climb the stairs to the Big Buddha and dine at Po Lin Monastery. Plenty of souvenirs in this village, but also at the Temple Street Night Markets, another stop before more delicious food - tonight we recommend a Claypot Rice Experience.

Time to check you still have space in your suitcase as you spend the morning shopping at various malls, before a lunch of Bao Buns and a departure to the airport.
