Flight time
The flight from Auckland to Hong Kong takes roughly 11 hours nonstop but no matter what time you arrive, this country is always ready with good food and great times.
In Hong Kong, it feels like any combination of anything is possible – modern skylines tower over ancient temples, Michelin-starred restaurants sit beside steaming street food stalls, and every street and alley hums with life.
Take the tram up to Victoria Peak for panoramic views of one of the world’s most glittering harbours, ride a traditional junk boat at sunset, or hop on the Star Ferry and see the city the local way – from the water.
You’ll never go hungry here. From teahouse dim sum to roast goose, pineapple buns and silky milk tea, the flavours of Hong Kong are everywhere and impossible to resist.
And despite the city’s reputation for neon lights and skyscrapers, there’s calm too – hike lush trails, discover hidden beaches, or soak up the serenity of mountaintop temples just beyond the urban rush.
Whether you’re shopping in vibrant night markets, exploring Kowloon’s buzzing art scene or sipping rooftop cocktails under the stars, Hong Kong will keep you coming back for more.

Hong Kong is between 4 and 5 hours behind New Zealand, depending on Daylight Saving here, so it might take you a couple of days to get used to it.
Hi, I'm Katy Devia. My love affair with travel started young, but it truly came alive during 3.5 years of living out of a backpack across Canada, the US, Europe, and the UK. I spent my winters chasing snow—working two snowboard seasons in Whistler, Canada, and two in the French Alps. My summers were just as unforgettable, backpacking through Europe, working on luxury power boats in the South of France, and even selling surf and snowboard gear in the UK. Those years taught me resilience, flexibility, and the pure magic of stepping into the unknown. I then headed back to the United States, where I lived and worked in Berkeley, California, for a year.
Later, love took me further south. Marrying a South American man opened my eyes to the vibrant, untamed beauty of Colombia. Over the years, I've soaked up the sun in the Pacific Islands, explored the streets of Hong Kong and Singapore, visited Bali, and even adventured deep into a gold mine in Borneo.
So, why did I become a travel agent? Honestly? Because I can't stop talking about it. After 15 years away from the industry raising my kids here in Nelson, I realised that my greatest joy is still helping others find that same spark I felt on my very first big adventure. I became a consultant not just to book trips, but to help people discover their perfect version of travel, whether that's heart-pumping adventure or total relaxation. My 'why' is simple: I want your memories to be as vivid as mine.

As your personal holiday builder I am here to take the stress out of your next holiday. Be it a family trip over the Tasman or romantic getaway to one of the sun soaked Pacific Islands, or maybe a bucket list destination trip.
I have had 10 years in the travel industry -made up mostly of being an International Flight Attendant. I have been lucky enough to travel to many places and experience many cultures. But there is always somewhere new to go!
I want to take the stress out of the planning so you can focus on the excitement of the trip. I am highly organized and like to ensure everything has been thought of and accounted for. Communicating clearly along the way with you so you feel confident and reassured.

Travel has been a constant in my life since my OE started with a classic Contiki trip through Europe, followed by working in London and traveling through the UK, Turkey, Egypt, and Israel. I also spent a year working in Iceland—a now trendy travel hotspot—before returning to New Zealand.
In 2000, my family moved to the middle east living in both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, which provided an exciting base for exploring nearby destinations. We had unforgettable holidays in Austria, France, the UK, Cyprus, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Sri Lanka, and Kenya.
Returning to New Zealand marked a new chapter of travel, this time without children. Recent adventures have included Vietnam, India, China, Peru, and Cambodia.
My travel career started with Singapore Airlines and since 2019 I’ve been consulting at House of Travel in Howick. I love talking and connecting with clients, listening to their travel dreams and turning them into memorable experiences.
Whether you're looking for an island getaway, relaxing cruise or an exciting adventure, I’m here to help you plan the perfect trip.
Travel is an adventure that brings the world to life.
