SEMI-INDEPENDENT
Beautiful Norway
Semi-independent visit to the mountains, fjords and valleys of Norway
This trip redefines group travel by combining independence with the ease and connection of a shared journey. Designed for travellers who appreciate flexibility but still value the camaraderie of a small group, it offers a carefully balanced experience — blending independent exploration with the comfort of travelling together with others for some sections of the trip.
Unlike traditional tours with a set itinerary and full-time guide, this journey follows a semi-independent format and does not include a guide or tour leader. You have a set itinerary that you follow independently, however, for some parts of the journey, you’ll share a premium mini-coach with a small group of 2-10 fellow travellers, who are also following the same thoughtfully curated route through Norway’s most spectacular landscapes between Oslo and Bergen. Some days, you’ll travel together, taking in breathtaking scenery and enjoying the insight of a local driver (who is not an official guide!). Other days, you can explore independently based on what you have chosen for that day. In the evenings, you’ll stay in the same high-quality accommodation, where there’s an opportunity to connect with fellow travellers — should you want to — before setting off on your next independent or shared experience.
This model offers the best of both worlds: A degree of independence combined with easy opportunities for socialising with fellow travellers and the safety and security of familiar people and a well-planned itinerary.
This trip runs weekly from May to September with fixed departures from Oslo every Saturday. The journey can also run in reverse starting from Bergen every Monday during the same period.

Spend a night in the magical Kirkenes Snow Hotel and try your hand at dog-sledding, arctic king crab fishing and reindeer sledding. If conditions are right —be dazzled by the northern lights, preferably on the night you are sleeping in an Aurora Glass Cabin in Northern Finland.
This can also be done in reverse, starting in Ivalo.
Accommodation:
Finnish Aurora Glass Cabins provides 'one-of-a kind' opportunities to admire the Northern Lights and millions of stars in the crystal clear sky while enjoying a comfortable room temperature. Built with a massive special thermal glass window facing sky wards, the temperature inside the cabin always stays at a normal level. It also prevents the glass from not getting white frosted, hence keeping the view clear even when the temperature outside drops to under -30°C.
Every room in Kirkenes Snowhotel is like a small treasure. The rooms are equipped with everything needed for a comfortable night in the somewhat extreme conditions. The pictures look like you are sleeping on ice, but that would be too cold and too hard for your back. The beds are framed with ice blocks and the beds have comfortable mattresses with thermal insulation on top. You sleep inside a sleeping bag graded for -35 degrees celcius. However, snow is a very good insulator, so even when it's -35 degrees outside, the Snowhotel remains a stable -4 degrees.

Christmas in Aurora Village
Get ready for a White Christmas in a cozy, family run glass igloo resort near Ivalo, Finland. Your glass igloo is set alone in the woods - you can gaze up at the Arctic stars and hopefully the Northern Lights will dance above you.
As well as snowmobiling, reindeer sledding and husky safaris, activities like the free use of cross-country skis, ice-skates, toboggans, snowshoes and campfires keep the days full. In the evening, sit back with other guests in the cozy Kota restaurant and share the day's tales.
Santa program for both departures. This program includes being seated in a snowmobile towed sleigh with fur covers for a ten-minute ride through the forest to a cabin in a secret location. You are dropped by the door of the cabin and meet Santa inside for approximately 5-10 minutes with a small gift from Santa (30-40 minutes in total).
