Meet your friendly and professional Tour Director and set off on an orientation tour of Broome, the gateway to the Kimberley. Spend a relaxed afternoon discovering this vibrant coastal town. As evening falls, marvel at the breathtaking sunset Broome is famous for, then connect with fellow travellers over a warm welcome dinner at the hotel.

We depart Broome early, with a convenient mid-morning break in Derby, and the start of our journey along the legendary Gibb River Road. Next stop, the stunning Winjana Gorge, a highly spiritual place for Bunuba people where we'll stretch our legs with a guided walk amid the towering cliffs and refreshing pools. Later, we arrive at Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge, a former cattle station located within the Wunaamin Conservation Park and rich in history and natural beauty. As the day winds down, enjoy a drink at the Settlers Bar before dinner.

Step into the remote beauty of Mount Hart, where open-back safari trucks take us off-road to explore vast wilderness and hidden waterholes. Learn about the area’s unique ecology and conservation efforts, take a refreshing swim, or simply soak in the tranquillity of this remote paradise.  After returning to camp the remainder of the day is at leisure with the opportunity to relax and explore the lodge gardens.

Back on the legendary Gibb River Road, pause for a refreshing swim and uncover the beauty of Galvans Gorge, a hidden gem nestled within the King Leopold Ranges. From here, continue north along the remote Kalumburu Road to Drysdale River Station, your home for the night. This working cattle station runs an astonishing 9,000 head of cattle across more than one million acres. Reflect on this incredible scale over a cool drink at the bar before retiring to your comfortable station cabin, complete with a private ensuite bathroom.

We continue north, fording the King Edward River before visiting a series of remarkable Wanjina rock art sites. These sacred places hold deep cultural significance and are considered among the most extraordinary in the Kimberley. Journey through ancient Livistona palm forests before arriving at Ngauwudu Safari Camp, a secluded retreat reserved exclusively for Outback Spirit guests. Take a dip in the camp’s private palm-fringed waterhole or simply relax in your Safari Suite before a sunset drink around the campfire to unwind from a day on the road.

After a short drive to the ranger station, we’ll set off on a guided 4km walking tour to the incredible four-tiered Punamii-Uunpuu, Mitchell Falls (a good level of fitness and mobility are required with some rock-hopping). Accompanied by a Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owner, we’ll discover incredible Gwion and Wanjina cultural art sites.

Our walk takes us past Bunjani (Mertens Falls), before arriving at the top of Punamii-Uunpuu, one of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders of the Kimberley. Find the perfect picnic spot and admire the falls, then we’ll take to the skies for a short but spectacular helicopter flight to experience Mitchell Falls from a bird’s-eye view and return (included) back to where the walk started.

Note: For guests not wishing to do the Mitchell Falls walk, an optional helicopter transfer is available to the top of the falls with local operators (at an additional cost). You’ll still be accompanied by an Outback Spirit guide for a relaxed exploration of this remarkable site.* Passenger weight restrictions apply.

Today, we retreat from Ngauwudu, the Mitchell Plateau and follow the Kalumburu Road back to the Gibb River Road. Heading east, we ford the Durack River before arriving at the foothills of the Cockburn Range. Admire the majestic orange cliffs and stunning vista in the soft late afternoon light before crossing the mighty Pentecost River.

Delve deeper into El Questro Wilderness Park with a tranquil 90-minute cruise through Chamberlain Gorge, a striking freshwater haven framed by towering cliffs. After feeding the cheeky archerfish, we head to Zebedee Thermal Springs, where warm, crystal-clear waters invite a relaxing soak beneath swaying palms. Choose your own adventure in the afternoon selecting to either unwind at the resort or take on a guided hike to Emma Gorge’s breathtaking waterfall (2.5 hours return) A good level of fitness is required for this walk; however, a swim in its cool, emerald pool is just reward for effort.

This morning we enjoy a visit to Wyndham and Five Rivers Lookout, boasting dramatic views out of Cambridge Gulf. En route we'll also visit Parry Lagoons, home to a vast array of birdlife. Later today we head to Kununurra and check into the Kununurra Country Club for our two-night stay.

From here, we begin our journey south to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Purnululu National Park, arriving in time for a late-afternoon sundowner. We’ll spend the next two nights at the Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge, with comfortable ensuite cabins along with the lodge’s swimming pool, make for a delightful two-night stay.

A day full of adventure, as we explore the wonders of Purnululu, including its unique orange and black beehive-shaped domes. Afterwards, walk along Piccaninny Creek to the natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge. Then, follow the ‘dome trail’ for a closer inspection of the park’s unique geological formations. The northern region of the Bungle Bungle Range is home to Echidna Chasm with steep-sided gorge walls up to 200 metres high and narrow passes to squeeze through on a 2 km guided walk. A well-deserved refreshing drink awaits back at the lodge.

Departing the Bungle Bungle Range early, we set our sights on Halls Creek, the site of Western Australia's first gold discovery in 1885. From here, we turn off the highway to Mt Pierre Station where we veer onto a track leading to the Mimbi Caves.

Be guided through this natural wonder which is part of the 350-million-year-old Devonian Reef system. Listen to Dreamtime stories and learn about one of the most significant Devonian fossil sites in the world from the local Gooniyandi people. Enjoy freshly brewed tea and damper before continuing our journey on the Great Northern Highway to our destination this evening, the town of Fitzroy Crossing.

Discover the wonders of Dimalurru Tunnel Creek National Park and venture underground through a limestone passage sculpted by nature over millions of years.
