Flight time.
It takes around 24 hours to fly from Auckland to Croatia, including a stopover. Despite the long flight, Croatia’s stunning coastlines and rich history make it a must-visit destination.
Bok! This dreamy destination has it all: enchanting beach coves, mouth-watering cuisine, and fascinating heritage. The shimmering Adriatic Sea embraces Croatia's charming islands and sun-kissed towns. It's a perfect place to enjoy the ocean without the crowds. But if you venture inland, you'll discover stunning landscapes, rugged peaks and rolling hills in northern Croatia. You can shuck oysters and taste wine at our favourite island spots, wandering between the red-roofed Hvar and the sunny Korčula. And if you're a Game of Thrones fan, you can join a custom tour with an expert guide through Dubrovnik, following the mighty footsteps of the Lannisters.

The best time to visit Croatia is from May to September, especially if you’re interested in the coastal regions. The summer months are perfect for enjoying the Adriatic Sea and exploring the islands.
Croatia is 10 hours behind New Zealand, so you’ll need to adjust to a significant time difference.

Since coming home, I have been privileged to take many long breaks to explore different parts of the world.

I have been in the travel industry since 1987 as a tour leader, travel advisor, traveler visiting the globe, and now Owner Operator of House of Travel Dunedin City.
My travels have encompassed 105 countries initially using all forms of transport from a double decker bus around Europe to rickshaws in Asia to horses in the Middle East and dugout canoes in Central Africa with camels, elephants, donkeys and bicycles in-between.
I am more than willing to travel in a lot more comfort these days visiting the Pacific, Myanmar, India, Vietnam, Ireland, China, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan, USA, Cayman Islands, Zimbabwe, Turkiye and Malta in recent years.
I believe the transition is similar for people of my generation who still yearn to visit anywhere and everywhere but enjoy a bit, or a lot, more luxury. As such I have developed an in-depth knowledge of the whole spectrum of travel options and regularly come up with solutions to the most complex of travel plans.
