I have had a lifelong love affair for exploring the world. Raised in a family that prioritised travel, I inherited a passion for all things travel. I have lived in different countries (London, USA, Argentina) and I am fascinated with the rich tapestry of culture, people, religion and food in new places. 

My love for travel has taken me to some of the world’s most amazing places!

From Mauritius to Bahamas and all in between, I have been privileged to experience the world and being able to speak and understand 5 languages English, Afrikaans, Dutch, German and Greek) certainly comes in helpful.

I have grown up in South Africa, spending most of my adult life there, being able to show my clients what makes this region so unique is a privilege. Africa was my backyard after all and even after living in NZ for almost 12 years, my heart still beats to the African Drum.

For me, choosing a favourite destination is impossible. But .. Bali has literally captivated my heart, and even though I have been there 20+ times, I still always find new things to uncover. As does the Maldives, Mauritius and Seychelles, these islands just have the “it” factor

I also love ocean cruising, especially Mediterranean and the Caribbean. Cruising offers such a great variety and a chance to see multiple destinations and experiencing iconic landmarks and locations from your hotel on the sea. 

I WOULD SAY MY PASSION IS MAKING MY CLIENTS DREAM HOLIDAYS COME TRUE AND I PRIDE MYSELF ON MY EFFICIENT SERVICE AT ALL TIMES.

While I'm now in a part-time support role for our incredible team of Travel Specialists, I have been part of the House of Travel family since 2011. I've worked across all areas of the business, including as a Travel Specialist from 2018-2021.

My love for travel and exploring the world began as a child. I come from a big family in a small Waikato town, and as my older sister travelled through America working as an au pair, I will always remember receiving her post cards, monthly phone calls and gifts in the mail from the amazing places she visited. From those moments, I knew I wanted travel to be a big part of my life.

I am fortunate to have travelled to many countries, experiencing various travel style and cultures. I love sharing with people everything I can about the amazing places I have been to, and in return I learn so much about those I haven't been yet. My "to travel" list is ever-growing!

My favourite quote comes from Mark Twain; "Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do, than by the ones you did do". Renee

I’m Pete, the globetrotting geek. A passionate traveller who thrives on learning and discovery - Travel provides an endless array of opportunities for this; it’s a way to experience new, ever changing and always exciting places, meet curious people and engross yourself in a different culture or witness wildlife that is truly wild.

Be it museums, historical landmarks, wildlife excursions or gaming havens – I revel in these aspects of adventure and love to share it with others.
